The Journey So Far.....

Welcome to my blog. Detailed within you will find the ongoing story of two brothers building the Essence 30 in Modern Facade with Wisdom Homes in Mulgoa Rise.

Land Purchased 11th March 2013 Land was registered before purchase. Spent a little more than originally planned but unfortunately the block we had our eye on sold the weekend before. But on the bright side this block is almost on top of a hill so we should get more of a breeze through the house.

Initial Deposit paid to Wisdom Homes 28th July 2013 Spoke with Steve from Wisdom Homes at Bunya Estate, who organised a walk through of an Essence 27 as there were no 30's currently being built and no Essence on display. We were happy enough to pay the initial deposit and had a few alterations and additions added to the tender.

Tender Presentation and Acceptance 11th September 2013 Wisdom quote a 4 week approx from initial deposit to tender presentation  they were pretty close at about 5 weeks with the rest of the time because it can be a little hard for two shift workers to get time off at the same time without calling in sick. Our tender was held at Narellan again with Steve who set about explaining very well what everything was.
The tender price came in about $10000 more than we thought and this was due to a 1.6 metre fall on the site. Which means we require:

• $8500 worth of soil removal
• $1600 for an edge beam
• $2900 for a 1030mm step down for the garage and a corresponding increase in garage ceiling height 
• $10700 for a 680mm step down for the entry, foyer, master bedroom, ensuite and robe.

Other things we added at the quote stage which are in the tender include:

• $5700 modification of porch for design guidelines, increase width of WC  to align with bathroom entry, add compact basin to WC, reposition bed 4 robe, add coffit ceiling to home theatre, swap location of fridge and benchtop along kids retreat.
• $500 for sliding doors to robes
• $500 for cavity sliding door to home theatre
• $10000 for flooring upgrade
• $850 for soundscreen insulation to home theatre
• $7000 for electrical upgrades
• $5000 for kitchen upgrades (not sure this will be enough)
• $4600 for full height tiles to all bathroom areas

We are currently looking through the colour selection information provided to us on a very convenient usb stick what a headache.
